System Features

Integrated Hood
A hood is integrated into the inner jacket for deployment in the event that it is needed but it remains hidden for everyday use. The hood may be deployed over a thermal sock hood and tightens around the SCBA mask when the inner jacket zipper is zipped to the top.

Vapor and Liquid Resistant Zipper
A special vapor and liquid resistant zipper is required to seal the front of the inner jacket and to seal the bottom of the hood closure to the SCBA mask. For turnout gear, these zippers are being developed to meet the requirements for heat resistance specified in the standard.

Inner Jacket Environmental Seal Hem
An elasticized tunnel around the bottom hem of the inner jacket can be adjusted to snug up against the pants to reduce airflow into the jacket for additional vapor protection. Set it for the most comfortable fit for everyday use and snug it up if ever needed.

YOCCO™ Drag Rescue Device (DRD)
The YOCCO™ Drag Rescue Device is designed to provide a quickly deployed system to help rescue a downed firefighter. The DRD strap is hidden between the inner and outer jacket and loops around the upper shoulders. One end of the loop exits through an opening in the outer jacket at the base of the collar covered by a flap. To deploy, open the flap and pull on the strap handle. This action tightens the loop around the victim's torso and gives you and others a more effective way of dragging a firefighter to safety.

Zip-Away Collar
To deploy the integral hood, simply zip around the top of the collar. This separates the outer and inner jackets so that you can freely pull up the hood that is attached to the inner jacket.

Zip Cuffs
Motorcycle style zippers in the sleeve allows access to pull on and secure gauntlet gloves.

Gauntlet Gloves
The gloves are designed like ski gloves including a gauntlet that fits over the inner jacket cuff, an adjustable elasticized tunnel closing off the top of the gauntlet, and a hook and loop fastened adjustable wrist strap. The gloves are constructed on an inner layer of CB barrier material and an outer layer of non-woven KEVLAR® for cut and thermal resistance. Currently there are non-breathable CB barrier glove liners commercially available with breathable CB barrier glove liners under development.

Adjustable FITLACE™ System
The sides of the inner jacket have an adjustable FITLACE™ system that works like a pair of boxing gloves to snug up the jacket to reduce airflow into the jacket for additional vapor protection.

Inner Jacket Hood to Mask Interface
The hood is sized to fit snugly to a specific SCBA mask. When you zip up the inner jacket to the top, it seals the hood around the mask. The hood is hidden in the collar between the inner and outer jacket, so this interface is secured only if ever needed and completely disappears for everyday use.

Offset Front Closure
The front closure of the inner jacket is offset from center so that the vapor and liquid resistant zipper can close up the side of the SCBA mask. This placement avoids discomfort when you bend your head and provides a more secure closure on the SCBA mask.

Ergonomic and Construction Features

AXTION™ Back
Full-length expansion pleats on the outer jacket provide unrestricted movement with or without an SCBA.

AXTION™ Sleeve
Pleats built into the outer jacket and darts built into the inner jacket on the front and back of each sleeve provide extra length where you need it for reaching up. Together with the AXTION™ Back, this system allows you to raise your arms without restriction and with minimal coat rise.

Contoured 2-Piece Sleeves
Ergonomically curved sleeves follow the natural shape of your arm to work with you - not against you. Contoured and graded for each jacket size so you always get the right fit.

Stand-Up Collar
The inner jacket has an integral inner collar lined with NOMEX® fleece which when zipped together with the outer jacket makes up a cozy and thermal resistant stand-up collar.

Free Hanging Throat Tab
Throat tab hangs freely away from your neck and out of the way when not deployed. When deployed there is no exposed hook and loop fastener on either the tab or collar. Tab is scooped out across the top with added coverage across the bottom for a precision SCBA mask interface, collar adjustment, and protection.

Cargo/Handwarmer Pockets
8" x 8" x 2" expansion pockets have an extra layer of shell material to reinforce the lower half for longer wear. Integral handwarmer pockets lined with NOMEX® fleece are set behind. Pockets still function when used with SCBA.

Thermally Enhanced Upper Body
High compression areas get added layers of thermal liner material for greater conductive and compressive heat resistance (CCHR). Extra-large enhancements extend 7" down the back and 5" down the front of the jacket.

Cuff Reinforcement
Cuffs are reinforced with an extra layer of outer shell fabric for extended wear.

TRIMTRAX™ Thread Protection System
Patented system of abrasion resistant KEVLAR® cording protects the thread securing our reflective trim from abrasion. Lasts up to 20 times longer than conventional trim stitching so maintenance costs are lower and your gear is in service more often.

Double-Stitched Seams
The strongest double-needle joining seams in the industry with more stitches per inch for longer service life.

SCBA Belt to Pant Interface
The pants incorporate an extension above the waist which provides a gap-free closure between the jacket and pants whenever the SCBA waist belt is snugged up.

CB Barrier Sewn to Outer Shell
The CB Barrier is sewn directly to the outer shell around the perimeter of the pants only - waist, cuffs and fly. Everywhere you see shell fabric there is a barrier fabric so there are no gaps in protection.

CB Barrier Gusseted Storm Fly
The large V-gusset behind the vertical hook and loop fastened fly tucks out of the way when you put your pants on while providing additional vapor protection.

Adjustable Belted Front / Elasticized Back
An elasticized back and a permanently attached belt with an adjustable high-temp polymer buckle in front helps to make CB.READY™ fit like a pair of jeans, to transfer weight to your hips instead of your shoulders, to keep the added length and fullness in the seat under control, and to seal off the top of the pants for additional vapor protection.

Step into the Future
Now the #1 brand in uniform boots and the #1 brand in fire service protective clothing have come together to revolutionize firefighter footwear. Say goodbye to heavy, stiff, military-construction boots forever - Globe FootGear is here.

Lighter and remarkably flexible with a unique cushioned and contoured sole and custom fit system, Globe FootGear fits better, grips better, and feels broken in right out of the box.

This CB.READY™ version will incorporate a new CB barrier currently in development as well as the special BOOTCOLLAR™ interface.

BOOTCOLLAR™ Interface to Pant Cuffs
When you flex your boots, it creates creases up the shaft of the boot. The tighter you secure a cuff around the shaft of the boot, the more the cuff sits on top of the creases while letting vapor and liquids move up the valleys created by the creases. By attaching a special extruded BOOTCOLLAR™ around the shaft, we have eliminated the creases running up the boot and given a secure shelf for the cuff to secure against. The pant has added length in the knee and the seat, so that when you bend your knee, the pant doesn't ride up and doesn't put any strain on this interface. The pant cuffs have a double environmental seal to secure above and below the BOOTCOLLAR™ for additional vapor and splash protection. This interface can be secured and pants pulled down over the tops of the boots so that you are always ready to step in and pull on your pants.

Ergonomic and Construction Features

Fits Like a Pair of Jeans
An adjustable belt and elasticized back makes CB.READY™ pants fit like a pair of jeans.

AXTION™ Knee
Horizontal pleats built into the shell and corresponding darts in the barrier lining and thermal liner on the front of each leg provide extra length where you need it for stepping up, sitting down, kneeling, or crawling. The fronts of the legs are wider than the back to provide more fullness over the knee where you want it and less bulk under the knee where you don't. Side seams are rolled toward the back of the legs keeping them out of the primary abrasion area. Together with the AXTION™ Seat, this system allow you to bend your knees without restriction.

AXTION™ Seat
When you bend your knees, the revolutionary CB.READY™ pants allow for the added length and fullness you need in the seat. Not only can you step up without restriction, but when you kneel your knees are directly over the knee pads without any twisting of the leg. When you try on a pair, you'll immediately appreciate just how dramatic this difference is.

Padded H-Back Ripcord Suspenders
Suspenders attach to horizontal loops sewn to the top of the waist extension so that there is no metal hardware to dig into your waist or get caught up. H-back design stays on your shoulder, ripcord feature allows easy adjustment and quick release, and integral padded shoulder straps are included.

Angled Expansion Cargo Pockets
Two angled full-bellows pockets are a generous 2" x 10" x 8"/10". They hold a lot, are easier to access below your jacket or when kneeling down, have oversize flaps, and are reinforced with an extra layer of shell material on the lower half for longer wear.

Independent Stretch Waistband
Two inches wide and lined with water resistant fabric, the waistband is cut on the bias (diagonally) for stretch and an unrestricted fit.

Removable Thermal Liner
Liner attaches under waistband and to snap-tabs at the cuff for no-gap thermal protection. An extra layer in the knees adds conductive and compressive heat resistance (CCHR) and padding for comfort.

Cuff & Knee Reinforcement
Cuffs and knees are reinforced with an extra layer of abrasion resistant fabric for extended wear.

Diamond Crotch Gusset
Distributes fabric stress over five double-stitched seams in both the shell and liner for longer service life.

Reverse Boot Cut
Pant legs are 1 inch shorter in the back to avoid premature cuff wear.

Double-Stitched Seams
The strongest double-needle joining seams in the industry with more stitches per inch for longer service life.
