1. COLLARBREAK™ Attachment System
One of the favorite features of Cairns wearers, this is the only firesuit in the world which has the collar attached directly to the liner, not the shell. The inside of the collar remains completely smooth and flexible because the attachment to the shell is made with a row of hidden VELCRO® on the outside away from your neck. With the collar folded down, it's like it isn't there at all. Standing up with the Hanging Throat Tab deployed, it makes an unbelievably flexible and secure interface with your SCBA mask.
2. AXTION™ Sleeve
Pleats built into the shell and darts in the AXTION™ liner on the front and back of each sleeve provide extra length where you need it for reaching up. This system allows you to raise your arms with complete mobility and with minimal coat rise.
3. Telescoping Sleeve Wells
Extra-deep 5” telescoping sleeve wells keep water out, interface with all glove styles, and add additional thermal protection. The knit wrister is attached to the liner for increased mobility when reaching. And the inner cuff adjusts with elastic and VELCRO® for a “just right” fit.
4. Free Hanging Throat Tab
4-layer throat tab hangs freely away from your neck and out of the way when not deployed. When deployed there is no exposed VELCRO® on either the tab or collar. Tab is scooped out across the bottom for a precision SCBA mask interface, collar adjustment, and protection.
5. Contoured Sleeves
Ergonomically curved sleeves follow the natural shape of your arm to work with you — not against you. Contoured and graded for each jacket size so you always get the right fit.
6. Cargo/Handwarmer Pockets
2” X 8” X 8” semi-bellows expansion pockets hold a lot but don't bulge out in the front and have an extra layer of shell material to reinforce the lower half for longer wear. Integral handwarmer pockets lined with NOMEX® fleece are set behind. Pockets still function when used with SCBA.
7. TRIMTRAX™ Thread Protection System
Patented system of abrasion resistant KEVLAR® cording protects the thread securing our reflective trim from abrasion. Lasts longer than conventional trim stitching so maintenance costs are lower and your gear is in service more often.
8. Cuff Reinforcement
Cuffs are reinforced with an extra layer of your choice of materials, double-stitched for extended wear.
9. New High-Temp Polymer Zipper
Finally, a strong and easy-to-zip polymer zipper that exceeds the standards and your expectations. Standard closure uses this new zipper covered by a quadruple-stitched VELCRO® storm flap for less bulk, lower weight, and to allow radio pocket options to be closer to the front of the jacket to avoid SCBA straps. Or choose from many closure options.
10. Breathable Front Closure System
Storm flap and inside facings are lined with breathable moisture barrier material for liquid penetration resistance and improved body core heat stress relief.
11. AXTION™ Liner
The liner has darts in both the thermal and moisture barriers corresponding to the added length in the shell provided by the AXTION™ sleeves. Wristers are attached to the liner so that there is more mobility when reaching. When you take off the jacket, the liner stays connected to the cuff with 4 hidden snaps.
12. Liner Access Opening
An access opening in the liner hidden under the front waistband allows you to check out the condition of the moisture barrier and thermal barrier when you need to.
13. Thermally Enhanced Upper Body & Elbows
High compression areas get added layers of your specified thermal liner material for greater Compressive Conductive Heat Resistance (CCHR). Extra-large enhancements extend 7” down the back and 5” down the front of the jacket.
14. Generous Liner Pocket
7” X 9” interior pocket is lined with moisture barrier to keep contents dry. Optional second pocket is available.
15. Your Choice of Lengths
Men's sizes are available in either 29”, 32”, or 35” lengths and women's sizes come with a standard 29” length. Any of these lengths may be ordered with a 3” or 6” XPS™ option giving you even more choice to customize your fit and style.
16. Cairns XPS™: Extension Panel System
This exclusive optional feature allows you to extend REAXTION™ jackets by an additional 3” or 6” in length. Not just a flap, but a curved hem that tapers from the front to the back, XPS™ panels are sewn directly to both the shell and the liner providing continuous protection. The 3” XPS™ defines a brand new look with staggered trim along the hem allowing for lettering in line with the front band. The 6” XPS™ has an extra band of trim along the bottom allowing for lettering between the bands. Either the 3” or 6” XPS™ can be added to any 29”, 32”, or 35” REAXTION™ jacket for you to customize your own fit and style.
17. YOCCO Drag Rescue Device(DRD)
The YOCCO Drag Rescue Device is designed to provide a quickly deployed system to help rescue a downed firefighter. The DRD strap is hidden between the inner and outer jacket and loops around the upper shoulders. One end of the loop exits through an opening in the outer jacket at the base of the collar covered by a flap. to deploy, open the flap and pull on the strap handle. This action tightens the loop around the victim's torso and gives you and others a more effective way of dragging a firefighter to safety.
