These systems are compliant with NFPA 1971 Standard on Protective Ensemble for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting, 2007 Edition. For Aircraft rescue and firefighting applications, Cairns offers ARFF Boeing and the ARFF INDEX-E protective clothing systems meeting the requirements of NFPA with additional design and feature benefits specific to ARFF.

It begins with a 30% PBI®/70% Para-Aramid® knitted blend with an aluminized surface. The finished protective system is substantially lighter, more supple and more flexible than other Proximity suits available today. Cairns Proximity garments, like all Cairns turnouts, come with over 70 standard (no charge) features, and your choice of Moisture Barriers and Thermal Liners. Virtually all Cairns options can be specified for a complete custom-equipped system.
